Dear colleagues and E-druggers
 
I am writing to draw your attention to a consultancy opportunity with the World 
Health Organization to Review of ART forecasting model and production of global 
and regional demand forecasts for antiretroviral medicines in low- and 
middle-income countries, 2018-2022  (15 June 2018 - 30 November 2018)
 
 
The purpose of this assignment is to produce the forecasts of the global and 
regional ARV demand for the period from 2018 - 2022, to prevent global ARV 
shortage as the world move towards the 90-90-90 targets.
 
Description of tasks
 
Under this agreement for performance of work, the consultant will conduct the 
following tasks: 
1.      review the ARV Forecasting Model including review of projection methods 
and assumptions, and adjust it using new information from the WHO/UNAIDS 
epidemiological data on HIV and access to ART, data from the WHO 2017 survey on 
ARV use, and ARV procurement data from the GPRM, SCMS, South Africa and Global 
Fund. 
2.      contribute with epidemiological and statistical inputs to the 
forecasting model of new ARV formulations in collaboration with WHO relevant 
Departments and Units (TAC and SIP), Medicines Patent Pool (MPP) and UNAIDS
3.      produce the draft global and regional demand forecasts of 
antiretroviral medicines for use in adults, children and PMTCT
4.      participate in the forecasting working group to discuss the preliminary 
results in the Technical Working Group meeting which will be hosted by the 
USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program in Washington DC, USA
5.      link the adult forecasting module to Spectrum
6.      To  collaborate with CEPAC to effectively link the paediatric 
forecasting module to Spectrum 
7.      To develop a web interface to enable access and use of the paediatric 
forecasting module developed by CEPAC within the Spectrum suite of tools 
8.      revise the model with comments and most recent data received from the 
members of the Technical Working Group, in particular CHAI forecasts and the 
quantification data from the Global Health Supply Chain Program 
9.      produce the revised global and regional demand forecasts and forecasts 
for ART and PMTCT
10.   present pre-final results at the consultation with pharmaceutical 
companies and stakeholders
11.   finalize results and produce a report describing the methods, data, 
assumptions and results of the global ARV demand forecast at global and 
regional levels
12.   market size estimate for oral PrEP

1.      Draft forecasting model: scenario, assumptions and preliminary results 
for review 
2.      PowerPoint Presentations at the working group meeting 
3.      PowerPoint Presentations at the annual consultation with ARV producers 
4.      PowerPoint Presentations on market size estimate for oral PrEP at the 
annual consultation with ARV producers Presentaton 
5.      Final report on global and regional forecasts of ARV demand in low- and 
middle-income countries for ART and PMTCT for 2018-2022 
6.      To  collaborate with CEPAC to effectively link the paediatric 
forecasting module to Spectrum
7.      To develop a web interface to enable access and use of the paediatric 
forecasting module developed by CEPAC within the Spectrum suite of tools
