issues to consider sending an abstract to ICIUM-3. Not sent, not known! WB]

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE FOR ICIUM 2011 EXTENDED TO DECEMBER 14, 2010

The abstract submission deadline for ICIUM 2011 has been extended from December 
7, 2010, to December 14, 2010.

ICIUM 2011 focuses on the impact of interventions, programs, and policies on 
the use of medicines in low and middle-income countries and welcomes submission 
of abstracts on international, regional, national, institutional, provider, and 
patient issues related to:

--Access to medicines: public and private sector access, intellectual property, 
innovation, production, price negotiation and supply, provider behavior, human 
resource and civil society

--Medicines policy, regulation, governance: policy making and implementation 
processes, guidelines, essential medicines lists, health reform, quality, 
promotion, and transparency

--Economics, financing, and insurance systems: medicines cost, affordability, 
incentives, insurance Coverage

--Child health: integrated management of childhood diseases, access to and use 
of pediatric medicines

--Chronic care: health systems and access to medicines for diabetes, 
hypertension, mental health, treatment adherence

--HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis: global programs, supply chain management, 
pharmacovigilance, patient adherence and retention

--Malaria: chemotherapy and chemoprevention of malaria

--Drug resistance: surveillance, containment strategies, research and 
development

--Gender and medicines: gender equity in access to and use of medicines

Since the intent of ICIUM 2011 is to help shape evidence-based policy 
recommendations and a future research agenda, both newly completed and recently
published work are welcome.
