In the European Union the official information source for professionals is the 
"Summary of Product Characteristics" (SPC).

In the context of a doctoral thesis on medicines information for healthcare 
professionals, we assessed the clinical pharmacology information provided in 
SPCs and patient leaflets. Results were compared to those from a previous study 
with the American Physicians Desk Reference (PDR)
