[e-drug] Public sources of Canadian drug prices (2)

E-DRUG: Public sources of Canadian drug prices (2)

There is a federal agency that regulates the prices of patented drugs but
the Canadian federal government has only a minor role in paying for drugs
and as such there aren't any available prices paid by the federal
government. Most of the public financing of drugs is done by the provincial
governments. The drugs covered by the provinces vary from province to
province but the prices are pretty well the same across provinces. Prices
are listed in provincial drug formularies and you can access them from the
following web site <http://www.chaps.ucalgary.ca/Links/formularies.htm>.
Prices in the private sector tend to be the same as those in the public
