In some places the Principal Pharmacist is the Director of Pharmaceutical
Services, particularly in smaller countries.  the actual name of the
position will vary. This person is responsible for developing, coordinating
all aspects of National Drug Policy linked to National Health Policy.  This
is the case in Eritrea.  In many Pacific Island Nations something like this
happens. The person might be the Chief Phamracist who is actually based at
