[afro-nets] The Kit to Make Your Siloed Systems Get Along!

Health Information Systems Interoperability Maturity Toolkit

Interoperability is the word these days for breaking the walls that trap the
power of technology. Exchange of data between systems enables quantity,
quality, and accessibility. And in the realm of health, that can mean lives

But in low- and middle-income countries, are health systems ready for that data
flood? Do we understand the enablers and barriers to interoperability for these
low-resource health information systems?

To address these questions, MEASURE Evaluation—funded by USAID—collaborated
with the Health Data Collaborative’s Digital Health and Interoperability
Working Group.

The result? A Health Information Systems Interoperability Maturity Toolkit to
help countries self-assess and plan their interventions for interoperability of
information systems, featuring:
  *   A maturity model
  *   An assessment tool
  * A users’ guide to help you identify gaps and use results to plan

The toolkit is available online at

MEASURE Evaluation is funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development
(USAID) under the terms of cooperative agreement AID-OAA-L-14-00004 and
implemented by the Carolina Population Center, University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill, in partnership with ICF International, John Snow, Inc., Management
Sciences for Health, Palladium, and Tulane University. The views expressed in
