DLHA Fundraising Drive
"Too many people die simply for lack of access to the knowledge
that can save their lives. This knowledge exists, however it re-
mains inaccessible to those who need it the most. Access to
health information is an integral part of all health systems be-
cause it can improve people's health."

vide free access to Africa-relevant public health and disease
information for purposes of improving quality of life and well-
being in people and communities in the region.
The Datelinehealth-Africa website at http://www.dlha.net/betav1.0
is the flagship vehicle in use to cost-effectively achieve this
mission. Presently, the site receives between 120,000 - 350,000
hits and 400,000 - 1.4 million page views per month. Encourag-
DLHA is undertaking a fundraising drive in the last quarter of
2005 through the "Network for Good" donation programme and cor-
dially invites your support.
The fundraising drive is specifically to generate cash to pay
for a major re-work of the DLHA website as a Virtual Library for
Africa Health and Disease Information. The project and its an-
cillary initiatives are estimated to cost approximately $25,000.

of navigation, better organized content and improved overall
user experience; b) Compatibility with other commonly used
browsers apart from Internet Explorer on which it is presently
configured. c) Ease of use in searching and retrieving needed
Africa-relevant health and disease information, images and data-
bases anywhere on the Internet; d) Increased site traffic
through the use of free email newsletters to push site informa-
tion; e) Provision of additional Africa oriented health modules
not available elsewhere; and e) Implementation of Online train-
