Invitation to Roundtable on UN WPAY Feb.1, 2005
I have been receiving several e-mails requesting participation
and possible funding to attend the Development Partnership In-
ternational (DPI) Round Table on the World Programme of Action
for Youth... and this gives me great joy.
However, I would like to state that the round table is the first
step to a number of activities that DPI will be doing on the
World Programme of Action for Youth (WPAY) this year and this
initial one is only open to Nigerian youth who are able to fund
their participation. There is no registration but participants
will have to pay for their own travel.

The purpose of the roundtable is to engage young leaders in the
review of the WPAY and reflect on progress made with its imple-
mentation, constraints and opportunities, gather contributions
from youth leaders to the on-going review of the WPAY, MDGs and
the UN Youth Agenda, to redefine youth activism in the Niger-
delta using the WPAY as an entry point and facilitate the in-
volvement of young leaders from the region in the achievement of
major international development frameworks.
The session will focus on the five thematic areas of DPI's ac-
tivities which are: Education for all, Environmental Sustain-
ability, Employment/ Entrepreneurship, ICT for development and
Reproductive Health/HIV Prevention.
Young leaders in Nigeria who are interested in attending should
please send their brief profile on/before January 25. Please
note that only those who receive invitations will be allowed
into the venue.
Look forward to meeting you there.
